Crypto payment verification
Crypto payment verification is the check that a cryptocurrency payment was included, matched the recipient and asset, changed the balance, and reached the confirmation depth required before anyone treats it as spendable.
Incoming cryptocurrency payments
An incoming cryptocurrency payment, in OTV, is a claim that a transaction hash paid a named recipient. The check is whether that claim was included, executed, matched the asset and recipient, changed the balance, and reached the network's confirmation depth. The result is a signed verification verdict.
A hash is not a payment
A transaction can be seen and still fail execution. It can transfer a lookalike token. It can name the wrong recipient. It can be included and still be short of the confirmation depth. OTV keeps those as separate evidence items.
What you can rely on
- A signed verdict for the claim you submitted.
- The status enum, unchanged. There is no synonym for SPENDABLE.
- Public lookup of a stored verdict by ID.
- A lower confidence cap when the adapter is mock or offline.
OTV does not claim that verification prevents every fraud. It reports the evidence it collected and the status that evidence supports.
